Summary

What building enclosure details are the biggest headaches or concerns from a General Contractors perspective…whether it be lack of details in the drawings (flashings, terminations, required sequencing, etc.), product incompatibles (sequencing, install requirements), field modifications based on existing conditions (unforeseen conditions), design changes not completely vetted by all parties (changes approved but ramifications not fully understood), etc.

Learning Objectives

  • Develop an on-site understanding of sequencing Building Enclosure system components
  • Gain a working knowledge of typical Enclosure Details ‘By Others’
  • Learn how field modifications can cause unintended ripple effects for Building Performance
  • Design and fabricate a method for open dialogue regarding Critical Enclosure requirements
  • Analyze specific example conditions for constructability issues
